Gravity bongs, also known as geebs, funnel smoke through water and into the user's lungs using two empty plastic bottles. A gravity bong consists of a water-filled container with a bowl of marijuana on top. As the cannabis burns, carefully remove the water from the container to fill it with smoke. Smoke will be forced into your lungs by gravity if you place your lips over a bottle's mouthpiece and press the bottle down on it. The task has been successfully completed!
Is the use of gravity bongs a legitimate method of intoxication?
In a nutshell, yes. Smoke from a gravity bong is much thicker and more potent than smoke from a pipe or a joint, so it fills your lungs much more quickly. Smoke from a whole bowl of marijuana may be inhaled in one go by inhaling the smokey bottle's contents. Therefore, gravity bongs are not for the faint of heart. Even seasoned cannabis users who aren't accustomed to this old-school approach will get a significant THC dose from it.
If you're looking for a touch of nostalgia with your cannabis intake, here's a tutorial on building your own gravity bong out of ordinary home items. Using a plastic smoking device comes with the risk of inhaling flammable materials, so please be aware. No responsibility is assumed for your actions.)
Is it possible to make or purchase a gravity bong?
If you're a first-time cannabis user or have a poor tolerance, avoid using a gravity bong. It's still a great DIY setup for intermediate to experienced smokers since it delivers the smoke quicker than other techniques. Crafting isn't something you enjoy? Consider getting one of these gravity bongs to spice up your smoking experience.
Should we be using plastic water bottles?
It is possible for chemicals to be released from the PETE or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles used for DIY bongs and smoking devices when heated (like the water left in a hot car after being left in a hot bottle). By heating your gravity bong, the toxins within may be drawn into your lungs.
Researchers are currently trying to figure out the long-term effects of exposure to this sort of radiation. Many marijuana smokers avoid using plastic vaporizers in favor of glass or silicone models as a safety precaution. If you want to create gravity bongs out of plastic, be aware of the dangers and proceed with care.
Here's how to create your own gravity bong.
To begin, gather the following:
A bottle made of plastic (16-20 ounces is ideal)
2 liter plastic bottle or a bucket
Foil coated with aluminum
Box cutters or knives with a high degree of sharpness
The skin is poked using this gadget.
One gram of your preferred cannabis variety (at least)
With a little guidance, gravity bongs might look scary, but they are really fairly simple to use. You can create your own gravity bong in less than 10 minutes using items you probably already have in your house if you're inventive, creative, and determined.
The first step is to cut the bottle in half.
Use your box cutter to remove the bottle's bottom. This is why it is best to leave as little as possible in order to maximize the potency of the impact.
Cut the bigger bottle in half, next.
Cut the bottom off of your 2-liter bottle and then fill it with water. If you're using a bucket, make sure it's full of water.
Make a hole in the bottle cap using a drill.
You may use a box cutter or scissors to make a hole in the cap of your smaller bottle. To avoid foil (and cannabis) falling into the water, the opening should be small enough to let air to pass through.
Foil bowl shaping is the fourth step.
Wrap a piece of aluminum foil over the top of your cannabis bowl to create a divot. Using foil to protect the weed from dropping into the water below, you can design the bowl to be as deep as you want. To keep cannabis from leaking, the foil may need to be trimmed and molded. Using a gravity bong is a great way to improve your health, so give this metal bowl piece a try.
Next, make a few slits in the aluminum foil.
A sharp poking instrument is needed to puncture aluminum foil. Prevent tearing of the foil! Three to five holes are required for adequate ventilation.
Comb cannabis and insert bottle lid.
The foil-wrapped cap should not be screwed on just yet. Put your favorite strain of marijuana into the bottle cap's foil-wrapped spout.
Submerge a tiny water bottle into the solution.
Now things become a little trickier. If you have a big container, you may immerse the smaller bottle into it until it's submerged to its cap, then remove the lid. Screw the foil-wrapped bottle cap on firmly once you've done that.
Next, light your cannabis.
While the bottle fills with smoke, light the cannabis and slowly lift the smaller bottle away from the water while it fills with smoke. Make sure your cap is completely screwed on, and make sure you have no holes or gaps in the side of the bottle if the bottle isn’t filling with smoke. You may have to experiment with your gravity bong to get it to operate because of the risk of leaks.
Remove the cap by unscrewing it.
Putting your mouth over the bottle opening after your bottle has been filled with smoke is the next step.
In the tenth step, insert the bottle into the liquid.
The bottle should be gently pushed back into the water. Your lungs will be filled with smoke as the water flows into the bottle.
After filtration through water, cannabis smoke will be cooler and have a stronger THC concentration. Preparation and not inhaling too much smoke is important for the best effects. Cannabis consumers of all levels should proceed with caution with this product, as it will make them cough!
Does your gravity bong need to be replaced with foil regularly?
With a gravity bong, you can reuse the foil. You won’t need to change it unless you rip the foil or if the holes become clogged and prevent adequate ventilation, at which point you should replace it.
